I like being in close touch with the elements and seem to feel more 'tuned in' to the coast. You're never far from a nice cafe or tea shop (or fresh crab van if you're so inclined) for a little post painting reward :)Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17909161522406304080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3729131942320060374.post-48007794422057718842011-10-29T01:37:26.595+11:302011-10-29T01:37:26.595+11:30Hi David, Haven't been 'round the blogs...Hi David, Haven't been 'round the blogs' for a while but these are proof that you haven't lost any of the magic during your illness. A couple of the pieces do have a pinkish undertone as I was after a touch of colour vibration and seemed to be getting a sort of pink/purple atmospheric vibe from the subjects. I guess it reveals that those intial decisions can be as important (if not more so) than the final ones when painting.

Keith, thanks for the nice comment. You should definitely return for some painting. September/October is a good time, along with the spring as the weather isn't generally too bad and it's not quite so busy. The more I go the more I seem to find up there!

Thanks Valerie. It was good to get out in the fresh air again, definitely. I think you'd enjoy painting up there....windmills, sea, beaches, boats, sand dunes....plenty there that features in Seago's work that's for sure. It's brought to life when the sun is out too! Need to wrap up though as the wind whips across those marshes and seafronts. Several times I went to apply some paint and a sudden gust forces my hand well off course....just hope there's no one looking over my shoulder at the time :o)Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17909161522406304080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3729131942320060374.post-65465903506481087132011-10-28T18:15:26.443+11:302011-10-28T18:15:26.443+11:30Waw! You really know what you are doing (or very good at pretending you do) ! I specially love Cromer Pier for all those beautiful greys contrasting with the bright white waves and building on the pier. I also love your Mill which is very Seagoesque and where your terracotta colours go so well with the blue sky. Your last quick study is great too - can't believe you did that in 45 minutes! Remember me for any sales or swap in the future with those!! Great work again and glad you're back on your feet (and at the easel!)Valérie Pirlothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16470723379873674087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3729131942320060374.post-7374299957191734642011-10-28T17:32:10.143+11:302011-10-28T17:32:10.143+11:30Lovely work David. I will one day and if any of them turn out half as good as these I would be well chuffed!Keithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17696037671317713168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3729131942320060374.post-87439159124401269012011-10-28T12:29:29.885+11:302011-10-28T12:29:29.885+11:30David,

They have all the freshness of plein air and yet you capture so much of the detail and atmosphere of the location.Did you have these toned differntly before painting or is that some of the drawing showing through? On my computer it looks sort of pink, very interesting. Keep up the great work.
DougDouglas Clarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13814926126903308566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3729131942320060374.post-79234027955767957772011-10-28T04:19:02.542+11:302011-10-28T04:19:02.542+11:30Thanks Liam.
